Ian Wright

Ian commenced employment with Coopers & Lybrand in Launceston in 1979. He progrssed from Audit Manager to Senior Taxation Consultant and work for a period in their Melbourne office before joining Garrott & Garrott in 1992.

A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia since 1983, Ian is responsible for all of the firm’s audits.

With over 25 years audit and accounting experience together with three years taxation consulting Ian has developed a detailed knowledge of the issues in successfully auditing and providing management advice to an organisation.  Ian’s areas of industry expertise include local government, manufacturing, health and related services, financial services, insurance and mining.

Ben Coull

Ben joined Garrott & Garrott from University in 1993 and has progressed to the position of Audit Partner.  During the course of his professional year studies Ben received a Certificate of Merit for the 1995 Accounting 1 and Accounting 2 modules and the 1996 Ethics module, being Candidate of the Module in Tasmania for the latter two.

Ben is responsible for the firm’s Launceston audit practice, which includes clients in the health and aged care, insurance, financial institutions, agriculture, and training and employment sectors.  Ben also controls 400 superannuation fund audits, along with other specialist assignments.  As well as providing technical training and support for the firm in the area of financial reporting, Ben leads the development and training of our Caseware and ACL audit software and also has experience in developing and implementing accounting systems for clients using Attaché and MYOB.

From his 14 years of diverse and practical audit experience, Ben has achieved a thorough understanding of the issues confronting both businesses and not-for-profit entities and the requirements of an effective and efficient audit.
